Remember brush daily for 2 minutes and 2 times a day

Flossing

Flossing is an important oral hygiene habit. It cleans and dislodges food stuck between your teeth, which reduce the amount of bacteria and plaque in your mouth. Plaque is a sticky film that builds up on teeth and contributes to cavities and gum disease. There are generally two types of flossing techniques that is Thread Flossing and Water Flossing.

Thread flossing

  1. Break off about 18 to 24 inches of dental floss.
  2. Next, hold the floss taut with your thumbs and index fingers.
  3. Place the dental floss in between two teeth.
  4. As the floss reaches your gums, curve the floss at the base of the tooth to form a C shape.
  5. Repeat the steps as you move from tooth to tooth.

Water flossing

Water flossing is a way to clean between and around your teeth. A water flosser is a handheld device that sprays streams of water in steady pulses. The water, like traditional floss, removes food from between the teeth.

Inter proximal brushing

An interdental brush is a small brush specially designed to clean between your teeth, where a regular toothbrush does not reach. Daily use of an interdental brush in addition to regular tooth brushing, is an easy and efficient way to keep your gums and teeth fresh and healthy.

Mouth wash

Mouthwash, also called oral rinse, is a liquid product used to rinse your teeth, gums, and mouth. It usually contains an antiseptic to kill harmful bacteria that can live between your teeth and on your tongue. Some people use mouthwash to fight against bad breath, while others use it to try to prevent tooth decay.

  1. Pour 20ml (4 teaspoon) of mouthwash into a cup.
  2. Empty the cup into your mouth. Don’t dilute the solution with water.

In the process of gargling these particular types liquid that is kept in motion by breathing through it with a gurgling sound to rinse your teeth.

What is the proper way to gargle?

Gargle the water in the back of your throat for as long as you can handle. Then, swish the water around the mouth and teeth afterward. Spitting it out into a sink is recommended when you’re finished.

Why we should gargle our mouth?

Current guidance recommends that you should always rinse your mouth after flossing to flush out the loose bacteria and plaque that might be left in your mouth. A small 2018 study of dental students showed that flossing before you brush could help solve this problem.
